Apple Watch: AI “Recaps” feature to track life – without audio
Apple is reportedly planning a new feature that would constantly track what you’re doing – “privacy-friendly”. More Apple Watch news has also leaked.

For a long time, it seemed that Apple was only planning a few spec upgrades for its smartwatches, such as the chip used. But the manufacturer is reportedly working on an entirely new AI function that is said to come to Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. This is reported by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
Apple Watch knows what you did yesterday
The function could be called “Recaps” and live within the Siri AI app. It is said to run all day or become active when you are in certain locations. It is then supposed to provide a summary in the evening or upon request of what has happened in the past few hours. Neither transcripts of conversations nor audio will be stored, but the watch apparently processes ambient speech thanks to faster chips. The function is implemented “privacy-friendly” (“privacy-focused”), Gurman writes. Nevertheless, it is likely to cause concern, especially in the EU. Similar products exist from AI start-ups. Amazon recently acquired the company Bee.

Furthermore, the Ultra 4 will apparently get a longer battery life, according to Gurman’s post on X. The Ultra 3 recently increased this to 42 hours. Whether the standard Apple Watch Series 12 will also get more battery capacity remains to be seen. According to leak expert pdfu, a hint of a new Readiness app can also be found in the code of watchOS 27, which is intended to help athletes recover adequately as part of the Vital Signs app. This is already known from Whoop and other trackers. The available workouts have been improved, and there also seems to be a new optical heart rate sensor, which could potentially enable continuous heart rate monitoring. The storage space has reportedly been increased to 128 GB.
The SE 4 might come after all
Finally, there is also news from Apple’s entry-level watch. The rumor mill actually believed that there would be no SE 4 this year. But that might not be the case: Apple’s own online store has apparently been sold out of the Apple Watch SE 3 since yesterday.
This usually indicates new models. The SE is Apple’s stripped-down smartwatch, sold at a more attractive price. Currently, the SE 3 is available at retailers, where it can still be purchased, for under 250 Euros.
