After HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K 2026, Apple has more in store this October: the company has invited select journalists to a “Launch Experience” on Oct. 28. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reports that Apple has invited “some media outlets” to Los Angeles, he writes on X. The event is planned for the “whole day”, according to Gurman. Gurman, who is usually well-informed about Apple, had previously named Oct. 27 and 28 as possible dates, describing a “showcase” that would start on the evening of Oct. 27 and continue into Oct. 28.
At least three new Macs planned
Apple also held an event tied to Creator Studio in Los Angeles in spring 2026, and showed new Mac models there in fall 2024 after announcing them in a video. This week, Apple also held an “Apple Experience” in New York to launch HomeView and other products — with no Europeans invited, since the smart home hub isn’t coming to the EU at first.

Rumors suggest Apple will update at least three Mac product lines this month or introduce a new one. The MacBook Pro 14 with an M6 chip and the iMac with an M6 chip would be more routine updates. Neither is expected to change on the outside (though the iMac may get new colors), but both should be more powerful thanks to new Apple silicon. Further price increases are also possible because of the ongoing memory crisis.
MacBook Ultra and iPad mini 6
The most exciting product at the “Launch Experience” is likely to be the MacBook Ultra, which is now also referred to simply as the MacBook Pro. It is expected to be the first MacBook with both an OLED display and a touchscreen that can also be used as an additional input method. Apple has already prepared macOS 27, also known as Golden Gate, for it. The MacBook Ultra is also expected to be “significantly lighter” than current Pro models. Apple plans 14- and 16-inch models. They will likely use the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors already found in the MacBook Pro, since Apple isn’t making Pro and Max versions of the M6. Prices for the Ultra are likely to be steep, especially for configurations with more RAM and NAND storage.
Apple is also planning an iPad mini 8 with an OLED display. It will be thinner, have a faster chip (possibly even the A20 from the iPhone 18 Pro) and be water-resistant. The camera is expected to be positioned for landscape orientation, and the speakers redesigned. Rumors have also recently suggested that the iPad mini 8 could be significantly more expensive.
