LG: These HomeKit products are apparently planned
So far, LG has supplied Mac displays according to Apple’s specifications. Now the cooperation seems to be extended to smart home accessories. Leaks show this.

Apple will likely introduce new home products next week. In addition to a long-awaited “Home Hub” as a HomeKit control center, these will include new HomePod mini speakers and a new Apple TV 4K. But according to leaks, that’s not all: Apple has apparently partnered with LG to release its HomeKit hardware. This is evident from documents submitted to the US telecommunications authority FCC, which were also found at the certifier UL Solutions. The financial news agency Bloomberg discovered the material, which comprises at least six devices. It is planned that they will appear under the LG brand but be marketed by Apple; furthermore, Apple is likely to have supported the development. LG itself has not yet stood out with HomeKit products.
Third-party providers help Apple
Apple had previously cooperated with companies such as Belkin (a subsidiary of Apple’s most important contract manufacturer, Foxconn), Logitech, and also LG. These companies receive early information about new products to adapt them adequately to upcoming Apple hardware. For example, LG was responsible for supplying monitors of the UltraFine series for several years, which, thanks to the Retina display, suited Macs well, while Apple did not offer a suitable display. Belkin supplied, among other things, headbands and battery cases for the Vision Pro, and Logitech, among other things, its stylus for the computer glasses. However, the product diversity that LG apparently wants to launch goes far beyond these collaborations.

According to Bloomberg, the hardware is planned for release in the coming months, and LG is reportedly behind schedule. However, it is considered certain that the hardware will at least be announced during the “Home Hub” event. The products LG is planning and listed in the certification databases are called LG Video Doorbell Wired, LG Floodlight Cam, LG Outdoor Cam Plug-in, LG Indoor Cam Plug-in (cameras with floodlight, for outdoor and indoor use, the latter directly pluggable into a socket), LG Smart Deadbolt Lock (lock for standard US deadbolt doors), LG Smart Thermostat, and LG Temperature Sensor (thermostat, likely also for US conditions, temperature sensor).
Apple hardware still to come
All devices are Matter-compatible and operate via WLAN, Bluetooth, and/or Thread. The door lock will also have Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support for HomeKey. So far, there is only one model from Aqara that supports this. Apple is planning a kind of “reboot” for its HomeKit system, it is said. Siri AI is expected to help with this in particular.
Recordings of the new LG products seem to be hidden in Apple code, as shown by the well-known code leak expert pdfu. Among other things, the thermostat, the temperature sensor, and the lock are visible; the latter has an external keypad, which is necessary for HomeKey. Apple itself is apparently still planning its HomeKit products, as reported by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. Apple is allegedly planning to introduce a security camera next year that provides scene descriptions using AI but cannot record videos itself.
