iPhone Keynote in first half of September: Apple invites employees to “lottery”
Still in August, employees of US Apple stores can apply for iPhone keynote jobs. A first time window was also mentioned.

Apple has internally hinted at when to expect the iPhone event this year. According to a report by the financial news agency Bloomberg, the company has informed employees of its retail stores in the United States that they can now apply for a “lottery” to participate in a launch event “in the first half of September”. There, they are to help organize queues, check in guests, greet them, and direct them to the right place, among other things. They are also allowed to support the existing security teams.

With the lottery, which appears to be new in this form, the company is hinting at two things: Apple might possibly use September 9th for the iPhone keynote – and it seems planned to invite more people to the event than usual. Whether this means that this time there will not only be a video presentation, but also a live part of the event, remains unclear. However, this is the first keynote with Apple's new boss John Ternus, who is succeeding Tim Cook after 15 years at the beginning of September. Accordingly, a personal address to visitors that goes beyond a greeting could be helpful.

September 9th, a Wednesday, is considered an interesting date because the preceding Monday is the US holiday Labor Day, and there should be time for travel. Alternatively, Apple could also take the Monday a week later (September 14th); the following Wednesday (September 16th) would already be in the second half of the month.
Earlier Dates and Traditional Keynote Days
Apple calls the lottery “Event Support Experience Program” and invites all US store teams to participate. They can apply until Saturday (August 8th). Those who are allowed to come will be informed by August 17th. iPhone presentations traditionally take place on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and in rarer cases also on a Monday. Last year, iPhone 17 and Co. arrived on September 9th, a Tuesday.
At this year's iPhone keynote, at least three devices are expected. In addition to iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, a foldable is to be presented for the first time, which is known in the rumor mill as iPhone Ultra. Other models such as iPhone 18, 18e or Air 2 are reportedly planned for the coming spring, around March 2027.
