Apple Leaks: Details on new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini and iPad mini
A leak expert has discovered info on three new Apple products in Apple code. Including: the chip for the new iPad mini, the colors for the new HomePod minis.

Once again, Apple itself is responsible for information about new products reaching the public. Leak expert Aaron Perris specializes in finding unannounced details in Apple’s operating systems and apps. He found details and references to three new products in the iPhone maker’s code. These are the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, the HomePod mini 2, and the eighth-generation iPad mini. The information was published by the Apple blog MacRumors, for which Perris works. The devices are expected to be released as early as October.
iPad mini 8: Camera redesign, water resistance
The iPad mini 8 will introduce major upgrades. The most important is likely: Apple’s most compact tablet will receive the A20 Pro chip for the first time. Apple has so far only used this chip in the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, and will integrate it into the brand-new foldable iPhone Duo in October. Furthermore, Apple plans to relocate the selfie or FaceTime camera on the iPad mini 8: it will no longer be optimized for portrait mode, but for the tablet’s landscape orientation, thus moving to the longer side of the iPad mini.

This is not new: other iPads have taken this step in the past. The Sleep/Wake button remains in the same place, as do the volume buttons. The images reviewed by Perris also show that Apple is planning a new speaker system. The apparent purpose is to make the iPad mini water-resistant.
HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K Generation 4
For the HomePod mini 2, also leaked in Apple’s code, Apple is planning a range of new colors and most likely improved internals. According to the icons, in addition to black and white variants, there will be quite soft pastel shades: pink, blue, and green will be added. Otherwise, the hardware does not seem to differ visually from its predecessor, which is now almost six years old. A new S chip, inherited from the Apple Watch, could help make Siri AI-ready for the compact speaker, whose price was recently increased despite its outdated hardware.
Finally, Perris also discovered information about the Apple TV 4K, now in its fourth generation. According to the image from the code leak, there are hardly any visual changes here either. The latest rumors speak of an A19 or A19 Pro chip (from the iPhone 17 or 17 Pro) and more RAM for Siri AI. However, it could also stick with the A17 Pro from the iPhone 15 Pro. An improved Siri Remote and support for Wi-Fi 7 are expected. The current Apple TV is almost four years old.
