Following today’s Apple presentation of new Home products, which is expected to take place in the afternoon, a Mac presentation is said to follow soon after. According to insiders, this will happen at the end of October, and Apple is reportedly planning a two-day showcase in Los Angeles, to which creatives and a few selected journalists are to be invited. The dates set are said to be October 27 (evening) and 28 (all day). This is reminiscent of Apple’s previous events, such as the introduction of the Creator Studio last spring.
Apparently no livestreaming planned
According to information from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who spoke out on X, at least three revised Mac series and possibly a new iPad mini (first with an OLED screen) are planned, provided the latter is not shown today. For Macs too, it is expected that Apple will present videos that introduce the devices in more detail.

A real “event” with livestreaming is apparently not planned, as with today’s Home “Experience.” Since the showcase lasts two days, there is a possibility that Apple will split the devices, i.e., not show everything at once. This would then be a bit reminiscent of the “Mac Week” from autumn 2024, when the company introduced MacBook Pro M4, iMac M4, and Mac Mini M4 step by step.
Which Macs are due at the end of October
In addition to new standard Macs such as a first iMac with an M6 processor and presumably new colors and a 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M6 chip (but unchanged form factor), the introduction of a “MacBook Ultra” is planned. The machine could also simply run under the old term MacBook Pro, will likely get M5 Pro and M5 Max and, for the first time ever, a touchscreen-enabled OLED display. The 14- and 16-inch models are not necessarily thinner but reportedly “significantly lighter.”
Customers have been waiting for the new form factor for years. macOS has also been internally adapted for touchscreens. However, operation by finger is to remain optional. So there are no plans to merge iPad and Mac, which Apple has always emphasized over the years. Thanks in part to RAM and NAND inflation, the machines are likely to be expensive. They won’t get an M6 chip because there are reportedly no Pro and Max models in this series.
