Apple announced a new Apple TV 4K model on Tuesday. The 2026 model replaces the outdated predecessor from 2022 and primarily brings improvements to the internals. At the same time, customers must prepare for another 50-euro price increase, bringing the price to a now steep 350 euros. The hardware can be pre-ordered immediately, but will not be released until November 13.
Only one model left, and it’s more expensive
The Apple TV 4K model with Thread and Ethernet has so far cost 300 Euros, but only since the major price increase in the summer. Together with the Apple TV 4K 2026, Apple is also discontinuing a cheaper variant without Thread and Ethernet. In the future, there will only be one model that supports Thread and Gigabit Ethernet. Apple’s A19 chip, previously found in the iPhone 17, is now built-in – a significant speed increase compared to the predecessor model with the A15 from the iPhone 13.
Apple is using the new chip, among other things, to bring Siri AI to the multimedia box for the first time. However, this is only possible if a user also owns an iPhone or iPad with Siri AI. This means: Users in the European Union will initially be left out. They can only use the old Siri. Otherwise, 128 GB of storage space (for apps, among other things) and, for the first time, Wi-Fi 7 support and Bluetooth 6 are built-in. It remained unclear whether Apple’s in-house Bluetooth and WLAN chip N1 is also installed.

New remote with precise search
Apple has also slightly updated the Siri Remote. Apple’s remote now supports so-called Precision Finding ("Precise Search") for “Find My” and can thus be located more precisely. The form factor and button layout remain unchanged. Precise Search requires an iPhone Duo, iPhone Air, or an iPhone 17 or newer (excluding the 17e); older iPhones will find the Siri Remote less precisely. Apple also sells the new Siri Remote individually for 69 Euros. It also works with previous Apple TV devices (all 4K models plus HD). In addition to full “Find My” support, the new remote also includes a speaker so you can ping it and find it more easily.

The new Apple TV 4K itself comes with an integrated far-field microphone for the first time, allowing communication with Siri AI even without the Siri Remote (which still has a microphone button). Rumors of a built-in FaceTime camera were not confirmed; for video communication, an iPhone or iPad is still needed as an “eye”. Output is up to 2160p at 60 fps. HDR10+ via HDMI 2.1 is supported.
