On Wednesday, Rosetta will release Philae. The lander will slowly descend to the surface of the comet over seven hours. On Earth, it weighs 100 kilograms. On the comet, called "Churi" by researchers, it will weigh only as much as a mole because of the object's weak gravity.

The lander is equipped with all manner of sensors, drills and cameras in order to send detailed analyses back to Earth.
