Photo Gallery Knut Developing a Taste for His Keepers

Knut is now six months old and has got markedly rougher with his keeper Thomas Dörflein, who frequently winces with pain when the celebrity polar bear bites him. At the moment he's still being playful, but the days of this friendship are numbered as Knut grows into a dangerous predator.

The keeper has resigned himself to the rough treatment. "He's only playing. It feels like pin pricks. But it can really hurt when he gets angry," says Dörflein.
