Photo Gallery Meet the Jury
Jury president Wong Kar-wai is one of China's most important directors. After a stint in the US, where he shot the 2007 film "My Blueberry Nights," he will be presenting his first film in six years at the Berlinale. "The Grandmaster" will open the festival.
Shirin Neshat first became known as a photo and video artist, but she now works primarily as a director. In 2009 the Iran native made her first feature film "Women without Men," for which she was invited to Venice Film Festival.
Like so many other successful Danish filmmakers, Susanne Bier studied at the National Film School of Denmark in Copenhagen -- but she has had the most mainstream success. Her 2006 relationship drama "After the Wedding" earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign-Language Film. She won the award in 2010 for "In a Better World."
Holllywood actor Tim Robbins is the jury's most famous face. He is well known for his roles in films such as "Bull Durham" and "The Shawshank Redemption," and his performance in Clint Eastwood's "Mystic River" earned him an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
