Three agents with the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Germany's foreign intelligence agency, were arrested by Kosovo authorities not long after the mid-November bombing of the EU headquarters in Pristina. They were accused of having thrown the explosive device.
No one was injured in the attack. The three German agents were approached soon after the explosion as they were taking pictures of the site of the incident.
Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, left, has been accused by the BND of having connections with the underworld of organized crime and drug trafficking in Kosovo.
The three German agents were posing as small businessmen and lived at the Pristina offices of their cover firm LCAS.
The three agents were released on Friday from a detention center in Pristina and were flown back to Germany on Saturday.
