Hundreds of young Spaniards queued to sign up for German lessons on Monday at the Valencia-based "Centro Aleman" -- a teaching and testing center for the Goethe Institut. With the latest Eurostat figures showing that just over than 56 percent of Spaniards under 25 are unemployed, many are being drawn to prosperous Germany. The Goethe Institut, which represents Germany's cultural interests abroad, has reported a record uptake in its language classes, as growing numbers decide to learn the language in hopes of finding a job in the country. It is struggling to find teachers to meet the demand.
