Supporters of Ivory Coast's incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo bite an ear of corn during a rally in Abidjan on Tuesday. The west African nation's long-delayed presidential poll went ahead smoothly on Wednesday in spite of some street clashes (threatened unrest was official reason postponing the election). But it failed to produce a clear winner. A run-off between Gbagbo and his liberal challenger, Alassane Ouattara, is set for Nov. 28.
