Visitors to the 16-day-long Oktoberfest  in Munich take a ride on a carousel. The fair is the largest beer fair in the world, annually attracting around six million people, and last year the festival-goers consumed a whopping 6.6 million liters of beer. The raucous event features hundreds of revellers dancing on wooden tables and different stalls selling Bavarian specialities. This year's fine weather may give visitor numbers an boost and the latest government figures on German consumer confidence show that this too has risen to a 16-month high. Anyone for another round?
