More than 300 hot-air balloons take off simultaneously in an attempt to capture the world record for largest mass hot-air balloon ascent. The stunt took place on Wednesday at the Lorraine Mondial Air Balloons, an international meeting held in Chambley-Bussieres, eastern France. In 2005, the event hit a snag, also while trying to set a world record, when a balloon crashed after flying into high-tension electrical wire.
