Freddy Nock from Switzerland took a walk on the wild side when he balanced on the ropeway of a cable car leading to Germany's highest mountain, the 2,962-meter-high (9,718 feet) Zugspitze, near the Bavarian resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Unsecured, Nock covered the 995 meters as part of a charity event, setting a new world record in the process.
