The spires of Cologne's cathedral rise up in the fog behind a street lamp. The Gothic church is one of Germany's most famous architectural monuments, one of the world's largest churches and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 157 meter (515 feet) spires also make it the second tallest church in the world. It took over 600 years to complete construction of the church.
