Chilean miner Mario Sepulveda celebrates his rescue from the San Jose gold and copper mine which collapsed 10 weeks ago, trapping 33 miners approximately 2,050 feet underground. Sepulveda was the second miner to be brought to the surface in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Waiting crowds heard his shouts of joy even before the rescue capsule had arrived on the surface. "I'm so happy!" he cried when he climbed out of the Phoenix steel rescue cage, which is equipped with oxygen masks and escape hatches should it get stuck. The miners are being hauled up one at a time and the rescue operation is expected to last two full days.
