Picture This God?

Higgs boson? The God particle? Not quite. This graphic shows traces of a particle collision undertaken in the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. Scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) announced on Wednesday that they are getting closer to isoloating the Higgs boson, a sub-atomic particle that is one of the building blocks of the universe. It is also called the god particle. Its existence has been theorized for more than 40 years, but it has never been isolated. The pursuit of the particle was one of the primary motivations behind building the €7.5 billion LHC.
