A plastinated reindeer from the "Body Worlds" exhibition is unveiled in London's O2 Centre on Dec. 11. The preserved reindeer is part of Gunther von Hagens' controversial traveling show, which allows the public to view the internal workings of deceased humans and animals. In 1975, while teaching at the University of Lübeck, von Hagens invented plastination, a groundbreaking technology for preserving anatomical specimens with the use of polymers.
