Berlin was blanketed in snow this week turning the city, presided over here by the angel on top of the Victory Column, into a winter wonderland. The column was erected in 1864 in honor of Prussian victories on the battlefield. More recently, President Barack Obama spoke before 200,000 people here during his campaign. Soon the column will be covered in scaffolding for a €3 million refurbishment.
