Picture This South American Sands
Dieser Beitrag stammt aus dem SPIEGEL-Archiv. Warum ist das wichtig?
Spanish motorcyclist Gerard Farres Guell spins a trail of sand during the fourth stage of the Dakar 2010 Rally between Fiambala, Argentina and Copiapo, Chile, creating a fountain of sand in his wake. Fellow Spaniard Marc Coma won the stage, with France's Cyril Despres coming in third but still leading the overall race. The race, which traditionally ran from Paris to Dakar and is one of the world's most famous, has been hosted by South America since 2008 because of fears over terrorist attacks in Africa.
