A powerful storm battered the west and south coast of England Monday, disrupting road, rail and air travel and cutting power to 12,000 homes. The storm, which came in from the Atlantic and reached wind speeds of up to 130 kmh (80 mph), hit Wales and southern England especially hard, as captured here in Seaford in Sussex. The powerful winds caused small-scale flooding in south west England and damage to buildings in Devon and west Wales.
