It is thought to be the oldest grapevine in Germany. According to a new study by the German Agricultural Ministry, this plant in the vineyards of Schloss Wackerbarth in the state of Saxony, is at least 300 years old and could be much older. The determination of the age of the vines at Schloss Wackerbarth is part of the year-long celebrations to mark 850 years of wine making in Saxony.
