Reader Gallery Surviving Germany with a Sketchbook in Hand
New York illustrator Marcellus Hall has a tip for making the best of a trip or stay in Germany: never forget to bring your sketchbook. Hall, whose work regularly appears in New Yorker magazine, has contributed a gallery of his illustrations to SPIEGEL's Germany Survival Bible.
Dieser Beitrag stammt aus dem SPIEGEL-Archiv. Warum ist das wichtig?
After reading selections from the Germany Survival Bible, Marcellus Hall, a New York-based illustrator and musician, sent in the following sketchbook from recent trips he made to Germany. His work appears regularly in the New Yorker and his illustrations have also been published in the Atlantic Monthly, New York magazine and the New York Times. With Hall's permission, we have posted a selection here.
For more information about Hall's work, check out his Web site or a diary he wrote for Slate magazine about the week in the life of an illustrator .
