SPIEGEL Surfs the Web Iraqi Blog Round-Up

Lest we forget, the situation in Iraq is growing increasingly critical as Sunday's elections approach -- the first democratic vote to be held there in decades. Words From Iraq

With the security situation in Iraq making it more and more difficult for reporters to cover daily life there, a number of blogs coming out of the country are increasingly becoming must reads. One of the widest read is Salam Pax . Baghdad Burning  is another excellent blog from the capital, as is this family blog . There are a number of American soldiers  recording their daily thoughts digitally, too. This one  is the light-hearted blog of an American soldier keeping nature notes from Iraq; this site  is the touching blog of Michael Smith, who was killed in action on Jan. 11th. For a selection from a number of different blogs, both Iraqi and American, take a gander at Words From Iraq .

Tall or Not?

Ever wondered how you measure up to the stars? The Tall or Not  Web site lets you enter your height -- in feet or meters -- and compare your dimensions with those of celebrities and historical figures, from professional wrestler Andre the Giant to model Anna Nicole Smith. For the politically macabre out there, you can even see how you would have faced off with Joseph Stalin.
