SPIEGEL Surfs the Web Unpimping Your Auto
Volkswagen has been having a rough ride lately. Its cars just haven't been selling like they used to and management is still trying to overhaul the automaker so it can compete in the 21st century. VW's bread-and-butter model the Golf has also lost a lot of its allure to flashier rivals and tricked-out "pimp-my-ride" style custom cars. But the company's new US ad campaign proves nobody should write them off just yet. Easily topping their Fahrvernügen commercials of old, they've got actor Peter Stormare (admittedly a Swede) getting his Teuton on . Stormare, of course, played a German nihilist in the cult classic "The Big Lebowski," so he knows a thing or two about channeling his inner Kraut : "Vee Dubb, holding it daun on ze endjineering tip, y'all!" If that's not enough for you, you can even detail your own GTI and take it for a joyride with Helga , VW's new Germanic advertising vixen. Make sure you go for the leather seats.

Can Jews and Nazis Get Along?
It's easy to be a white supremacist. There are just a few simple requirements: you've got to be white, and you've got to hate pretty much everyone who isn't white -- a category that normally includes Jews. But what if you're Jewish and white and hate everybody who isn't white? Can you be a Jewish white supremacist? Apparently it's possible. In the Jewish weekly magazine Forward on Friday, there is an article about a group of right-wing Jews who attended a recent meeting in Herndon, Virginia called the American Renaissance Conference -- which is sponsored by a far-right magazine dedicated to white racial purity and believes in black intellectual inferiority. Their attendance didn't go over well with everyone there. The meeting was -- perhaps not so surprisingly -- "infiltrated" by neo-Nazis and Holocaust deniers. Well, the disappointed Jews can always try to join Israeli anti-Semitic groups.
